Dili, 23 January 2026 – The National Sport Commission (NSC), represented by Ms. Kerry Galhós, participated in the Global Learning and Development Framework (GLDF) Education Training held from 21–23 January 2026 in Tokyo, Japan, following a pre-introduction session on 13 January for countries in the Asia and Oceania region. The training was hosted by the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) under the leadership of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The programme aimed to strengthen the competencies of Education Officers and managers in preparation for the implementation of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and the revised International Standard for Education (ISE).

During the three-day in-person training, participants conducted a structured review of the ISE requirements and examined practical steps for effective implementation at the national level. Through interactive workshops and peer discussions, representatives from National Anti-Doping Organizations (NADOs) across Asia and Oceania shared experiences, identified challenges, and explored strategies to enhance the quality and impact of clean sport education programmes.

The National Sport Commission considers participation in this programme an important milestone in strengthening Timor-Leste’s anti-doping education system. The knowledge and tools gained from the GLDF training will support the development of a more strategic, values-based, and sustainable education plan aligned with international standards, reaffirming Timor-Leste’s commitment to integrity and clean sport.
